There are two types of carbon wheels:
Carbon with Alloy Brake Track
Mostly carbon wheels can be compatible with Fliiiight if they have an aluminium alloy brake track.
This type of wheel is unlikely to have an incompatible steel pin. We still recommend you use the wheel compatibility checking tool to check for a steel beaded tire.
Full Carbon
Fliiiight does not work with wheels with full-carbon brake tracks.
Unlike aluminium rims, passing a carbon fibre rim through a magnetic field does not generate eddy currents, the key to Fliiiight's signature zero-noise, zero-contact resistance.
If you own an alloy wheel, use it in place of your fully carbon wheel during your the indoor training season to experience the benefits of silence (check it for steel pins first). Or, check out our list of compatible wheels.
